If you find yourself in the lovely part of the country that is known as western Michigan, then you are in for a treat. This amazing region in the so called “Mitten State” is filled with lush wooded coastlines (cared for by Timber Ridge Tree Care) of Lake Michigan, which is one of the beautiful Great Lakes.
Very close to the coast is a small vibrant city that is teeming with great things to do and see. This is the quaint town of Grand Rapids. It’s one of the fastest growing cities in the state and offers many attractions for visitors and residents alike.
Food and Drink
One of the things that Grand Rapids is best known for is its beer. In fact, this town was recently rated by a popular magazine to be one of the best beer cities in the entire United States of America. There are several microbreweries here in town that offer the finest craft beer that you can get. Of course, being in the Midwest means that you’ve got lots of carbs and dairy to go with your beer. Make sure that you get some great Michigan cheeses and meats to go along with your craft brew.
Grand Rapids has a budding music scene that has really taken off in the past decade. On any given night, you can see an assortment of jazz, funk, and rock and roll at a number of bars and venues in the city. There are also a lot of great classical and theatre performances that occur in Grand Rapids due to the handful of colleges and performing arts societies that reside there.
Of course, one of the best attributes of Grand Rapids is that it is so close to the western coast of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Just an hour drive outside the city will put you on the serene and sandy shores of this beloved north midwestern state.
